History of Topeng Grebeg Sabrang Dance
Grebeg Sabrang is a tradition rooted in the story of the ancestral journey of the Jabung people in maintaining harmonious relations with migrants from across the island (sabrang). Mask dance is an integral part of this tradition, used to tell noble values such as cooperation, courage and tolerance. This tradition is thought to have existed since the time of the Majapahit Kingdom and continues to be preserved today, symbolizing unity in cultural diversity.
